Yup, very slack.
It's been so long since I posted o here and so much has been happening.
Too much, in many ways. I haven't had time to think so much has happened so fast.
I've got a contract, I've even had that contract expire (twice) and renewed (twice). Working happily in the city.
Seeing my daughter(s) quite regularly now, even been out camping with them on occasion.
Been to Girraween with the guys and gals from ex-Redcliffe IT again. Had a brilliant time - again. Need to get off my backside and post some pics of that.
Bought a new home with my wife. Moved in to said new home and are now trying to rent out the old place.
Now trying to fund raise for Movember, have a mo' and plan on putting some photo's online this weekend.. been too busy setting up the new house to get around to it yet.
If you're looking here for Movember stuff - give me until the weekend please, I promise I'll get something up then (sometime, because it's another busy busy busy weekend!)

Yup, in 2 days I'll be losing my hair for the Leukaemia Foundation!

Yesterday morning I got up and checked the rain gauge - 28mm. That had all fallen overnight as it was empty around dark the day before.. and I didn't hear any raing when I went to bed around 11pm so it must have fallen between 11pm and 8am the next day.
By 11am when we got home from our morning rounds the gauge had an additional 26mm in it! Sheesh that was a lot of rain. By the end of the day it was up to 30mm.
This morning when I got up and checked again it had another 16mm in it.
So in the period of 48 hours we've had 28mm + 30mm + 16mm = 72mm of rain! Wowee that's a lot of rain!
Yesterday the parks were flooding quite profusely when we left in the morning, but by the time we had returned in the afternoon they were back down to almost normal ... and I wanted to take a bike ride to see what it was like along the rest of the parks too....

It's done! My arms have been waxed and my hair dyed blonde
My arms are still a little tender, but it wasn't half as painful as I was expecting - don't get me wrong though, it hurt!
Then got to spend another 3.5hrs in the hair dressing salone getting my hair dyed...
Nobody showed up for the BBQ though, but that was fine they'll see me soon enough
Pictures will be available shortly

Well 2006 has passed and 2007 has been ushered in - at least in Queensland, Australia.
All the best to you all for 2007 and as someone on my favourite Land Rover forum said:
May the worst of your future equal the best of your past!

Yeah that's what's given me this blasted cold.
It's been rather cool - for the past week I don't think temperatures have rising above 30 degrees.
Xmas day itself was a cool 28 degrees.
Quite lovely really

Went back to the doctor yesterday after getting some blood tests and Xrays of my back.
Nothing surprising in the blood tests, however I have arthiritis in my back.
Arthritis. In my back.. and I'm 32.
Yippee.
Boy this is just the icing on the cake of a wonderful year, you know?
I'm sure some people out there would be laughing their god-damned guts out right now :-\

A couple of months ago I managed to throw my back out. I think it was when I was changing the seats in my car.
Ow it hurts.
I've been going to Physio for the past month or so but so far I must admit I haven't seen a huge improvement.
We shall see.

After B'fer passed on my mother quickly furnished me with another of her many immature cockateils.
This time she gave me a white one that I called Snowflake.
He seemed to be doing well, as did B'fer.
He didn't last 2 weeks
He passed away today. I'm sorry Snowflake....
I didn't even get a photo of him. No more birdies for me, I obviously can't look after them well enough.

Yes folks we're back online. Couldn't be buggered right now sorting out the look of the blog, so you'll just have to live with it as it is.
Sorry it took so long to get back online, but at first it took Optarse a good part of a month to get our phone connected - and then we got screwed by them again when it came to broadband.
We organised a phone / TV package via them and thought all was fine, in fact even when talking to the sales rep. and the field engineer we said we weren't getting the ADSL connected because we could find cheaper and better plans elsewhere. Well as we found out that wasn't possible because Optarse shoved us (phone and all) through their cable network, so the only plans available to us were Optarse plans (ie. no resellers are allowed on Optarse' cable network). As we no longer have a copper phone line, that means that ADSL was completely out of the question to.
Well we could get a seperate phone line connected and then run the ADSL via that, but then that kinda defeats the purpose of ADSL doesn't it? You remember, the one where you didn't need to get anymore phone lines and could talk and internet surf at the same time??
So anyways we're back online at last. Missed out on alot too, if you're lucky I'll get around to backdating some entries and updating it. I always liked the thought of using this as a kind of online diary, however I've come to the conclusion that having this as an online diary is nothing but a naive idea. Some of the things I would like to say could so easily be turned around and used against me (and trust me, there are those out there who would) - not to mention sometimes my thoughts are likely to hurt those I love and / or are dear to me.
So I'll (try) to keep this a bit more sedate from now on - yes I know that makes it boring for you but I'm sick of the pain that others seem to enjoy inflicting on me at times, and this is one way to avoid one area where they can attack.

Yes! Today was my last day at work.
I had a lovely after-work apero, it was really nice that so many people showed up. Unfortunately Irene couldn't make it due to something that cropped up at the last minute though :-\
I still had a lovely time and will miss them all, however I still can't wait to get home

Yippee! About bloody time too.
After calling up Cybernet and complaining that nothing was happening (still!), they got hold of Swisscom and within a few hours I had a call asking if someone would be home tomorrow in order to allow one of their technicians in.
So I volunteered to stay at home in the morning and wait for their flaming technician.
'bout 9am I got a call from their technician. He said they'd noticed a mistake on their side and could I check it please - well guess what? NOW it is working! The ADSL light is on and I have my internet access back again.
No apology, no offer to re-imburse for lack-of-ADSL-service, nothing. Just a "we noticed an issue on our side, could you check your link please". 3 flaming weeks without ADSL and all the time it was something that Swisscom had stuffed up.
Bloody 'ell, what a mess. At least it's going again now.
My apologies to those who use Bloodvale's services.
Ok I'm off to work now. At least it was a moderately nice birthday present, though I would have liked my internet access for the past 3 weeks as well.

Latest news is Swisscom reckon they have enabled everything from their end, but there is no link light at my end. Is this possible? Well the answer is NO this is not possible, but I will go home and check.
Got home and checked, nope everything is connected properly. Even had an older ISDN ADSL router lying around so tried that - guess what? No f'îng link light on that either.
So I'm back to hassling my provider to get it fixed - still.
That's 2+ weeks and counting without the ADSL I've paid for.

ADSL is STILL down.
My apologies to everyone on Bloodvale. I am working on getting it back up as soon as possible.
Latest news is - and wait for this, it's impressive - I have to lodge an "official" trouble ticket by filling in a PDF document and faxing it back to them. What a load of sh*t!
Cor this is annoying. Customer service, what's that?
